Nā Mea Hawaiʻi/Native Books

An afternoon of Hawaiian music and a chance to sing-along with a living legend, on the occasion of the release of her new songbook.

Nā Mea Hawaiʻi / Native Books is pleased to announce a launch event to celebrate the publication of a homespun classic, Hōʻahu ʻAna o Nā Mele – Hoʻokahi Iwakālua a Hapa Kākini – One Score and Half a Dozen – A Collection of Songs, Stories, & Pictures by Edwina Marie Noelani Kanoho Mahoe, or Aunty Noe to her family and friends.

Join us for an afternoon of great music and a sing-a-long and signing. Aunty Noe continues her lifelong commitment to Hawaiian music with another gem. This songbook features 26 her favorite songs 25 in Hawaiian and one in English, from every island. Each song selection includes lyrics, score, chords, as well as a CD of professional recordings of each song. This book will become a valuable resource to teachers and musicians for performances and kanikapila. Let’s celebrate Aunty Noe’s lifetime commitment to Hawaiian music.

In the tradition of the He Mele Aloha songbook, all profits from Aunty Noe’s publication will be donated to Lunalilo Home. Aunty Noe will be doing mini-concerts and sing-a-long signings on all islands from August through September. For information on this event, her performance schedule or to book an event or bulk purchase books.
